I'm Sadie Brennan — 31, Columbus, Ohio, former events coordinator, mom of a two-year-old, and currently pregnant with baby number two. Which means I'm writing this site from inside the subject matter: the weird weeks, the 2am questions, the getting-ready list that somehow contains both "choose a pediatrician" and "find pants that close."
This is a site about the waiting — what these 40 weeks actually feel like, and the short list of things genuinely worth doing before the baby comes. It ends at the hospital doors on purpose. There are wonderful writers for labor, birth, and the newborn weeks; I'll point you to them at every seam. I own the part before: the trimester-by-trimester honesty, the logistics of living in this body, the one-decision-at-a-time preparation (start with setting up newborn sleep before the baby comes — the post this site is built around), the second-time-around round two, and the questions you ask the internet at 2am.
Two promises. First: honesty over aesthetics — I planned my first registry like an events person and still got blindsided by week 34, so this site tells you what I wish the first version of me had known, not what photographs well. Second: I'm not a doctor, a midwife, or a doula, and I never play one online. Anything symptom-shaped here comes with sources (ACOG, CDC, AAP) and a plain "call your OB or midwife" line, because your provider knows you and I don't. What you'll never find: diagnosis, treatment advice, or supplement recommendations of any kind.
About the name and the history, honestly told: themomdiggity.com was a genuinely lovely personal blog from 2008 to 2015 — a real mom's pregnancy journal and family stories, with the tagline "can you dig it?" Its writer moved on in 2015, and the domain then spent years hosting completely unrelated Japanese websites (ocean activities, home renovation — the internet is strange). In 2026 it was revived by me, a new and unaffiliated writer. Everything here is new; nothing is republished; the previous owner isn't involved. I kept the wink in the tagline because the name deserves it.
