Day-31

The moments where your house is a disaster and there is pee on the floor from who knows when.

When it all seems to be falling apart.

You haven’t washed your hair in a week, and you smell strongly of sour milk.

It’s the moment when your 2 year old looks you in the eye and says “I love you so much, Mommy”.

THAT makes it worth it.

Every tiny moment is worth it. The good and the bad. The hard and the precious.

IT’S WORTH EVERY MOMENT.

Day-30

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1

Don’t ever forget that. Meditate on it. HE is what will get you through the day.
Him and that cup of 5:00pm coffee we talked about yesterday ;)

Motherhood is hard and each day has “troubles”. Whether your troubles are potty training or teaching calculus, it’s difficult.
Let Him be your refuge and strength!

Day-29

I can’t tell you how many days I’ve waited to drink my coffee until after nap time. My evening time with my hubby is SO important to me, even if we are just vegging out in front of the tv…it’s OUR time. So you better believe I will drown the exhaustion of the day in a cup of coffee at dinner time just to make it to midnight.

It’s worth every sip.

Day-28

Absolutely one of my favorite verses.

…whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable
if anything is excellent or praiseworthy– think about such things.
Philippians 4:8

Turn your thoughts toward Him.

Turn your actions toward Him.

And your children will turn toward Him.

Have some fun today. You know how they say you only get to be a kid once?

They lied.

You get to do it all over again with your kiddos.

Day-26

Walking into motherhood can be a terrifying thing. Am I good enough? Am I SMART enough to raise this tiny person? Do I have what it takes?? I worry if I will have the wisdom to give them what they need. Can I do it?

The answer is yes. It’s always yes.

“She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”
Proverbs 31:26

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
Proverbs 22:6

“Discipline your children, and they will give you peace; they will bring you the delights you desire.”
Proverbs 29:17

Are you doubting yourself? Turn to the word of God. Let is be that breath of fresh air.
The encouragement to get through the day.

No parenting books will give you the answers you need. There’s only ONE book that can give you that.

You know those toys that you keep tripping over? The represent something.

Your children.

The perfect little blessings that God gave you to raise and care for. Little miracles. 

Find the joy in those messes they make!

Day-24

Every stage is difficult for it’s own reasons. Don’t try to deny the fact that it’s hard. This goes right back to the Mommy measuring stick we talked about, there isn’t one. When you think that your life seems so much harder than someone else’s, trust me. Their kid isn’t perfect. Their life isn’t perfect.

We all have those REALLY hard days.

I’ve had several of them lately. My 2 year old has been rough and my 1 year old cries a LOT. That’s just life. It’s the SEASON I am in, and I’m sure there are hard things about your season too. The best part of mine? The giggles, playing chase, seeing my baby say a new word for the first time.

The joy outweighs the hard stuff ANYDAY. 

It’s why God invented naps.

Day-23

Have donuts for dinner.

Skip naps and go to the zoo.

Have a picnic and watch a movie.

Keep it fun.

Make memories.

Throw routine and rules out the window.

THAT’S the stuff that childhood is made of!

Day-22

“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long.
Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!”
2 Corinthians 4:17

I really am not calling motherhood a “trouble”, but when you are parenting tiny ones it is tough.
But it won’t last very long at all.
Cling tight to this season and pour Jesus into them. THAT outweighs the dirty diapers.
And our dirty diapers weigh a LOT.
