finding my friends and joining an army

September 18, 2012 — 11 Comments

I get so scared as a blogger. As a writer.  I hide behind pictures of my kids and let my blog become only about them, but it’s not just about them. It’s about you. You the mamas that are out there hurting and looking for something. God has put it on my heart to be a light and an encouragement to others. I kinda stink at that sometimes!! I convince myself that I’m not “good enough” or someone else will take care of it. But what if no one else is encouraging that friend that He laid on my heart to pray for and reach out to?

The honest truth?

I am good enough.

I am enough.

I am EXACTLY who He called to encourage and lead others in my life.

I’ve met so many amazing women lately. When I started out in the blogging world, I struggled to find my place. To find bloggers I could really connect with. And then I got an email about The Influence Conference. I prayed about it for a day or two, but I knew deep down that was my community. It’s like my entire outlook on blogging and social media has completely changed over the last 4 or 5 months.

I encourage you to find your place. To find your home. It’s been a struggle for me. I mean shoot, I’ve been blogging for over 4 years and I’m just starting to figure mine out! Don’t be afraid to be yourself. Don’t try to be something you aren’t!

I’m thrilled to be joining an army of women who are taking the interwebs by storm. We are *gasp* reading the bible together. *double gasp* Praying together and for each other. We are making MUCH of Him and less of us. Realizing it’s not about our own little corners of the web, but turning that space into a place that glorifies HIM and encourages others. That’s why I’m here, and that’s why I hope you’re here!

Let’s join hands across this incredible tool that we’ve been given and make MUCH more of Him! Who’s with me??

  1. Really enjoying your blog lately. I wish I could go to that conference. I really think it would change the way I blog. I’ve already changed the fact that I now blog about my spiritual side, which I never in a million years thought I would do. But it’s who I am now. Leaving it off my blog would be a lie.

    • THank you so much for your encouragement! I think it’s so important to be yourself! I used to try to hide it to not “offend” anyone, but come on….that’s just silly!

  2. Girl, your blog has been my inspiration! Not only do I love seeing pictures of your beautiful, sweet girls, I love reading your heart and passion for the Lord.

I wish I was going as well. Maybe I will skip BlogHer next year and go to this one :)

  4. Thank u for sharing this.. not that I am glad that u have insecurities in finding.Your place, but that I (we) are not alone. Because my blog is so much of that…encouragement and speaking from my heart”-I wonder all the time…who am I to have anything to say, who will listen to me, or need to hear this? Even though the comments I receive when I do are always thankful for what I say, I still suddenly drop to that “who am I ?” Complex… But you are right we are women who God called with a voice. Everyone is just someone. But God needs that someone to reach that someone else… Love you friend :) cant wait to meet you…and awkwardly hug you. :)

    • It’s always crazy when you say how insecure you are, you realize everyone else is too. It’s nice to know we aren’t in this thing alone :) I can’t WAIT to meet you. I’m going to hug you so big and you’re going to LOVE IT!

  5. So inspirational that you’ve found a group of friends to do this with!
