things they don't tell you

What a first time mom expects pregnancy to be:

  • Lots of Ice Cream
  • A super cute belly
  • Bubbles in the park?!?

Not likely…So wrong...

Things they don’t warn you about before getting pregnant:

  • Puking day & night
  • Back Pain
  • You’ll not even recognize your body anymore
  • All of your clothes get too small. I mean ALL of them
  • The ability to lose your energy walking across the room
  • The gross stuff I can’t even begin to mention on my blog
  • Back Pain
  • Forget sleeping normal
  • Bladder! Why do you always feel full!?!
  • Back Pain!
  • WHOA HORMONES! Where did my normal brain go?
  • The tears will come at any moment of any day
  • Loss of your perfect skin
  • Something else taking over your body
  • BACK PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Much more like it…So right...

Wait…did I mention….More joy than you can imagine?!?! It cancels out all the bad to know a wonderful, precious little baby girl is growing and having a ball inside of me!!!

Tomorrow I reach that joyous halfway point. The first half has been…interesting and I expect the second half to be full of even more surprises and pains I didn’t know I had in me. Here we go baby girl…20 more weeks until we see your face!

lol, I was just talking to my friend the other day that we should write a book of “things they just don’t tell you.”

Here’s some to add to your list:
*Peeing in a cup every time you visit the doctor for the next 9 months. (Totally caught me off guard)

*Belly aches (that round ligament pain that it’s just annoying)

*Feeling like you’ve run a marathon after walking a flight of stairs. Beyond the energy, I just hate feeling breathless.

*Not being able to take any GOOD medicine.

*You are going to hear more stories in a few months than you’ll hear about in a lifetime. Stories I have banned: “I was never sick,” “I never gained more than 10 pounds,” and all the “I almost died” stories.

Right on April! If one more person tells me about their perfect pregnancy and how they only gained 6 pounds, I might just sit on them with the 300 pounds i’m gaining :)

A good mother would have warned you about this; oh, yeah, I did. You just rolled your eyes and said “EEEWWWE”!

I thought you were just trying to make me feel guilty for all you went through for me!! I have a whole new level of respect for you now :)

The one that’s right up there with hemrhoids(?) (Not sure If I should’ve mentioned that!!), is all the “advice” you WILL get. Yes, perfect strangers will come up to you and give you all kinds of advice, or worse, will tell you their pregnancy stories. I mean, it’s all good and fun when it’s friends or family, but strangers?!?!?! GEESH!!! Here I am with child #5 and every now and then I get a well meaning little old lady trying to give me some advice on how to raise my baby!!!! I just smile and say “Thank You” and try not to roll my eyes!!! LOL!!! I’m glad you are enjoying your pregnancy. I loved being pregnant…even with the weight gain, stretch marks, hair loss, etc., etc., etc.

    HAIR LOSS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT???????????????

Do you have that sensitivity to smells? I could practically smell a cigarette in the next county my smell was so sensitive. Some foods disgusted me and couldn’t get enough of other smells.

Oh, with the hair loss, some women get that but most don’t. i went in to get my hair cut and the girl wanted to cut all my hair off, which was really long at the time, saying that it would all fall out anyway with the pregnancy.

I’ve had hair loss! Never mind that my normally clear skin now looks AWFUL, but I lose so much hair each day! Thankfully I have REALLY thick hair, because I think I might go bald! Now, I do have to say that it has slowed way down after the first trimester.

Okay cute girl….so very excited about the little princess on the way. Sooo glad you are halfway there – yeah!!! And I promise, I will try really hard not to tell you pregnancy stories. Everyone is different – every pregnancy is different – and yep, every sweet little bundle of joy is most definately different! God is so very creative. If I were in california, I would give you a back rub – sooo – Go BROOK!

You should read “Belly Laughs” by Jenny McCarthy. Its a HILARIOUS book about all the craziness of pregnancy.
